Being a male now aged 64, 63 when I started (no it didn’t take me a year), I didn’t want to go into a predominately female class environment (no offence ladies) so I became an online member, where I just had to email my weight each week. I could do this in privacy.
I was 15st 6lbs when I started on 22nd November 2010 and then 17 weeks later, on 23rd March 2011, I was weighing in at a cool 12st 8lbs and still am today. My waistline reduced from 42 inches to 36 inches. Seeing the progress I was making each week, gave me the encouragement to keep going. I did not think in the beginning I could do it.
It was not hard to follow the gwenmccreadie.com Eating Plan, I just had to set my mind to it and plan the route I wished to follow each day. Don’t get me wrong, it was not easy to adjust from regularly over eating especially the junk food and to start maintaining a sensible healthy eating habit. There were also lots of foods in the plan which before I would not even have tried, but found them to be quite tasty once I started eating them.
I’ve not been alone in my achievement though. My Advisor, Moira Robertson, has been such a help all the way through even though we only met about three times out of the 17 weeks. It was her enthusiasm and encouragement along with her advice given in our weekly email exchanges, that guided me to my goal and for which I am deeply grateful.
I would also like to thank Gwen, although we never met. Her Monday Newsletters were like a fairy tale, ‘follow my programme and you shall go to the ball’, and yes it did work. I had to buy a new wardrobe of clothes and – shhhh I went for a fish supper.
So male or female, if you want to lose weight why don’t you go along to a class, or, do it as I did, online.
I have no problem maintaining my weight as I now go along and check in with Moira at her class, free of charge, as often as possible.
