Gwen McCreadie is joining forces with Marie Curie Cancer Care in 2012 to support families in need throughout Dundee, Angus, Fife and Perthshire.
It is hoped the charity partnership, which is comprised of two physical adventures this summer, will raise as much as £10,000 to help Marie Curie to continue to provide free professional nursing care to the terminally ill at home in our local area.
Gwen hopes the challenges might kick start new healthy lifestyle habits and inspire her members to fulfill long-held ambitions.
She said,'I want 2012 to be the year our members achieve their weight loss goal for themselves and I think by taking on one of the Marie Curie challenges they will find great satisfaction in achieving something they might never have considered before.'
This year, while embracing a healthy eating plan, Gwen is challenging members to take part in either the Marie Curie Daredevil Challenge - an abseil 130ft down the Tower Building of the University of Dundee on Saturday, June 2, or a 10 kilometre evening walk at the Hill of Tarvit in Fife, in the grounds of the first Marie Curie hospice, on Saturday, August 4.
Both events are equally challenging, in different ways, but it is thought the camaraderie of fellow club members and the incentive to help others in need will empower each member to fulfill their individual goals and to take great pride in their achievement.
What's more, every penny raised by Gwen McCreadie stays within the postcode of origin, meaning people we know in the streets where we live will directly benefit as a result of your hard work and generosity.
