I have been a diabetic for years, and my weight was fine until 2010, when I retired and was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid. I started picking at food, and, as I was doing no exercise because I was so tired, I started piling on the weight.
By Christmas 2013 I weighed 11 st. 5 lbs., and was so fed up with myself looking like a barrel and hating myself, that I decided I had to do something. I had tried different diets before, but being a diabetic I always felt that they weren’t for me. Finally, I looked into Gwen’s diet and I thought, 'this sounds great, plenty to eat, and food that's more to my liking!'. So I decided to sign up with Gwen, and chose Moira for my online Advisor - and she has been my angel in disguise!
I started following the Eating Plan in May 2014, and I reached my target - 9 st. 7 lbs. - by October 2014. Not only have I lost my unwanted weight, but my blood sugars are excellent now.
Never known to be a good cook, I found myself making and trying some of Gwen’s excellent recipes. They are marvellous, and so easy to make. I am now cooking, and enjoying, lots of different foods that I would never have tried in the past.
I am continuing to stay with Moira as I have had great help and advice from her, and rather than trying to lose any more weight, I am maintaining this weight. I now feel great, and have loads more confidence in myself. I am just so glad I joined. I could not have done this without Moira’s help, and of course - Gwen’s diet!
